Summer Evenings PDF Print E-mail

Are you enjoying these warm, long summer evenings? But aren't the mosquitoes just horrible this year? After such a wet spring, the pests have really overpopulated. But all we worry about is an itchy red spot for a few days. In Africa, mosquitoes give people malaria. Every 45 seconds a child dies of malaria. In a year, a million people are dead. It is preventable, and the ELCA Malaria Campaign is working to prevent and treat malaria in many African countries, with a goal of total eradication by 2015. Two of those countries are our partner synods in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

So, when you swat that next mosquito, think of how your mission gifts are helping in Africa. Thank you for your support!

God's work, our hands.
